What is a prostate?
The prostate is in the area of the bladder neck and it hugs the urethra. Its function is to produce a liquid that protects the sperm cells. In other words: the prostate produces part of the seminal fluid essential for male fertility.
What is an enlarged prostate?
An enlarged prostate (benign enlargement of the prostate, in English: Benign Hypertrophy Prostate) is a condition in which the prostate gland (prostate) grows into the urethral cavity (the tube that carries urine from the bladder).
